אחת ובטח לא לתמיד... מה ההבדל בין כנף לספויילר

I'm just tired of seeing the same mistake over and over, so let me clear out for those of you that don't know what is the difference bewteen a wing and a spoiler

Spoiler - the leading edge (the front edge) is attached to the body work, the trailing edge (the rear edge) is raised in an angle

Wing - the entire element is floating, both leading edge and trailing edge do not touch the body work directly, but are mounted to brackets of some sort

.Pics are attached to make a bit more clear if needed

...So technically, the guy with the Punto said he is tired of seeing ugly wings and he wanted a spoiler - he actually built a wing

כן ובמהירויות נמוכות יותר ,כשכנף גורמת לדאון פורס במהירויות גבוהות בעיקר ובנמוכות הוא סתם מבזבז יותר דלק..

והספויילר במהירויות גבוהות גורם לגרר גבוהה מידי וע"י כך בזבוז רב של דלק ואיבוד מהירות עקב פגיעה באווירודינמיות של הרכב..

You're almost right, Passat, the Spoiler does make more down force at lower speeds, the wing does make more downforce at high speeds, BUT, and I'm sure you'll be surprised right now, a carefully designed spolier will actually reduce the aerodynamic drag of the car at high speeds and not raise it

ספויילר מגדיל את הגרר, ובאותה מידה מגדיל את ה"מערבולות קצה".

כנף לעומת זאת, אמורה לסדר טיפה את התופעה הזו (שוב, לא כל כנף, ובטח לא אילו שמתקינים כנף של ג'אמבו על ה לנסר/סיוויק שלהם)...

מערבולות קצה הן תופעה מוזרה... לאוויר יש הרבה תכונות מוזרות, במיוחד בתנועה ובמהירות.

I'm not sure where you picked that up from what I said.. regardless, the most aerodynamic shape is of a drop (like a water drop) that the length of it is between 2.5-4 times the diameter, that shape has a drag coef. that is nearly zero... egg shape has more drag than that

Unfortunately, most of the spoilers in the market are an item of "looks" rather than "works", on an interesting note, there are a couple cars with fairly simple yet effective spoilers for the purpose of drag reduction - BMW M3 and BMW M5

Look at the drawing I added, you can build a fairly cheap and effective spoiler very easily, it will probably be the optimal design but will surely generate downforce
